Submission Grappling
Submission grappling is a form of martial arts that focuses on ground fighting and submission techniques. It involves a variety of grappling techniques, including throws, takedowns, joint locks, and chokes, with the objective of forcing an opponent to submit by tapping out or verbally conceding defeat.
Unlike traditional martial arts, submission grappling does not include striking techniques, such as punches or kicks. Instead, it focuses on controlling an opponent on the ground and using leverage and technique to gain a dominant position and apply submission holds.
Submission grappling is a popular sport and training method for mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters, as well as for practitioners of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, and other grappling-based martial arts. It is also used as a self-defense technique, as it provides practical skills for controlling and incapacitating an attacker without resorting to striking or causing serious injury.
